My views on Apfel effekt

"Not many things has affected mankind directly as much as the apple. Think of any important event in the history of mankind and know that an apple has played a big part in its happenstance. Since the beginning of time, the apple has influenced the way man behaves. Be it Society, Technology, Philosophy, you name it and the apple has changed it. Right from the garden of eden to the modern day world, the apple has and still does play a vital role in shaping man's fate. All major wars in the history of man began when someone took a bite out of an apple at that point of time. Scientific thoughts awoke in man only after the apple chose an appropriate time to fall out of its tree. And in this modern age, we find our youth being led on by nothing more than an apple in it's new-age avatar. Imagine what changes the apple would bring into our lives in the near future."

Adam and Eve
The story of Adam and Eve forms the basis for the Christian doctrine of original sin: "Sin came into the world through An Apple and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all men sinned,"

God creates Adam and Eve, with no knowledge of good or evil, right or wrong - they are truly innocent. He sticks them in a Garden, and for some reason creates a apple tree whose fruit gives  the Knowledge of Good and Evil."DO NOT EAT FROM THIS TREE, OR YOU'LL DIE." says God.Adam and Eve hear this and dutifully nod their heads.
The serpent tempts the Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge, telling her that it will not lead to death; she succumbs, and gives the Apple to the Adam, who eats also, "and the eyes of the two of them were opened." Aware now of their nakedness, they make coverings of fig leaves, and hide from the sight of God. God, seeing that they have broken his command by eating from the tree, curses them with hard labor and with pain in childbirth, and banishes them from his garden.

Trojan War and The Apple of Discord

The Trojan War has its roots in the marriage between Peleus and Thetis, a sea-goddess. Peleus and Thetis had not invited Eris, the goddess of discord, to their marriage and the outraged goddess stormed into the wedding banquet and threw a golden apple onto the table. The apple belonged to, Eris said, whomever was the fairest.
Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite each reached for the apple. Zeus proclaimed that Paris, prince of Troy and thought to be the most beautiful man alive, would act as the judge.
Hermes went to Paris, and Paris agreed to act as the judge. Hera promised him power, Athena promised him wealth, and Aphrodite promised the most beautiful woman in the world.
Paris chose Aphrodite, and she promised him that Helen, wife of Menelaus, would be his wife. Paris then prepared to set off for Sparta to capture Helen. Twin prophets Cassandra and Helenus tried to persuade him against such action, as did his mother, Hecuba. But Paris would not listen and he set off for Sparta.
In Sparta, Menelaus, husband of Helen, treated Paris as a royal guest. However, when Menelaus left Sparta to go to a funeral, Paris abducted Helen (who perhaps went willingly) and also carried off much of Menelaus' wealth.
In Troy, Helen and Paris were married. This occured around 1200 B.C. (Wood, 16).

Newton And Apple

The 23-year-old Newton spent that time studying and laying the foundations for his greatest work, the Principia. One day he sat thinking in his garden, when an apple fell. Then he realized. The direction the apple fell, along with every other object on this round earth, was always toward Earth's center.
It wasn't just that the apple fell, but that it tried to go to Earth's center. That was Newton's Eureka Moment. He realized that Earth had drawn the apple to it. He realized that every object in the universe draws every other object -- probably in proportion to its mass.
Newton didn't publish his Principia until 20 years later. But he formulated the Law of Universal Gravitation there in his Lincolnshire garden. He showed us that what was true of apples and the earth was true of planets and moons as well

The Apple has taken over the digital world

The Apple iPod is no longer just a music playing device. It is know an icon of modern and popular culture. Instead of going out and buying a different brand of MP3 player, most people are purchasing one of the highly stylized iPods even though they have no apparent differences. This is due to the massive impact that they have had on every single person in the Western world. No other object has had just a large influence, and none other is even close to matching it.
Since their release in 2001, the iPod has quickly taken hold of the hearts and minds of all teenagers and even of the majority of the developed world. People realize that it is cool to own an iPod rather than another type of music device. The symbolic white head phones tell everyone around that you are trendy enough to own one. This is strange in itself because even though it lets people know how fashionable you are, it also blocks any social contact with nearby strangers.
